Magazine and Newspaper Journalism
I've been passionate about writing for as long as I can remember. That passion led me to major in journalism at Penn State, where I also spent 4 years writing for the prestigeous Daily Collegian newspaper. While at the Collegian, I wrote hundreds of stories on topics ranging from breaking news and event coverage to personality profiles and opinion pieces. I also had the opportunity to work on the newspaper's copy desk and to be the editor of its weekly arts and entertainment magazine, Venues.
Later, when I worked at Hibu, I planned, researched and wrote original content and solicited community contributions for a variety of 30-page, monthly community magazines across the country. I've also freelanced for publications including Town & Gown, in State College, and Region's Business, in Philadelphia.
